As with most car makers, what they consider leather and what you expect as leather are usually very different. They use phrases like 'leather appointed seats' which is like grass fed beef - if the cow ate grass at any time during it's life it's allowed to be called grass fed - even if their diet was 90% corn and 10% grass. Leather appointed means there is at least one area of the seat that qualifies as leather (probably low quality leather).
