or better when the little gas light comes on. the reason i ask is because just a few weeks ago i had a little "encounter" should i say, with a c6 corvette (stock i presume). we took a "trip" from 80mph, and he didn't pull ahead of me untill we hit 130. not a bad run , keeping in mind my car is rated at 325hp and weighs 4000lbs.however, last night i was messing around with a little 06 325I BMW and we decided to gun it from a dead stop. well, my "low fuel" light was on but i decided to go for it anyway. however, as soon as i floor it, at first; the car hesistates, (almost as it's hesistant to unleash full power since there is almost no gas in the tank), and then it decideds to go for it rowing through the gears, but the car is EXTREMELY sluggish. and i get confirmation by looking over in the next lane and see the 325I still by myside in the next lane all the way up to 70mph which is where i decide to shut it down.i give him a thumbs up but i'm kinda confused at the same time. i have since put gas in the tank but, that other night has still left me wondering. anyone else run into this problem or am i the first to experience something like this?

Traction control probably kicked in - or you starved your fuel pickup momentaraly loosing fuel pressure.

I have similar trouble at the drags, car is a slug at the line.

I would have to agree with Ken maybe next time u should put your foot on the brake and gas (foot on gas lightly) as soon as the light turns release the brake pedal you get a nice take off and your trac light just might not activate also try not to race on "E" being that the cluster is some what digital and you never really know how much gas you have in your tank unless your going down a hill then the gas sways near the gas pump giving you the actual reading but hell I do it all the time LOL
