I'm currently at 422 miles on a tank of gas. The level indicator is below E and the low fuel light hasn't come on yet. It might be broken. I'm trying to see how many miles I can put on the car before the low fuel light comes on.

I dunno about the S14s, but I recently had mine turn on on my S13.

Scared the hell outta me, too. I was 5 freeway miles away from a gas station, and all of a sudden, it's like there's a fuel cut. Flooring it doesn't do jack. Then all of a sudden, the light turns on and the acceleration goes back to normal. Anybody else had this happen?

I've had the light come on once, was about a half a mile away from gas station on freeway. Light turns on, I get scared, and for good reason too. When stopped at the off-ramp light, the car is on a slight hill, so the engine just dies, when there is a shell straight across from me. I restart the car and limp to the shell station using my AutoTranny's nuetral's gear as much as possible.

My bad... Well I'm not gonna risk driving to work with it like it is I'd like to see how much further it'd go on a tank of gas but I don't wanna run out. 422 miles out of an autotragic isn't too bad I guess...

Good one cyber.

Anyways, I have yet to see mine come on! It doesn't come on when the key is on [you know when all the other lights come on], but the bulb is good [checked it]

Usually when im on my red line ive got 4 gallons left [usually fill up on red, and it takes 11 - 12 gallons].

Last week I was so friggin broke because of some financial crap with my mom, I was on the red all week.. the light never came on. I must have been down to fumes, because after that I spent $32 on gas.

I think ill just hook up a switch, so when its low i can flip it and be like "oh wow it does work! i better get some gas!"

:(

I tried this method once. engine died 1/4 mile away from the gas station. 183 miles on 7.5 gallons.

Not sure about the 240's, but most Low Fuel Light systems work on the premise tha 1 to 1.5 gallons of gas is remaining. Though that doesn't mean your fuel pump can pick them up. If your fuel pump has been replaced the pick up may not be sitting on the lowest point in the tank. And hills/inclines will make a difference.
