Does the KA24E waterpump have a weep hole?

I get sporatic coolant leaks in my 90 240sx. Very little comes out, and it happens when I shut the car off.

It doesn't happen very often and the other day while under the car replacing the starter I noticed a bead of coolant had worked its way down the timing chain cover and was on the oilpan lip. I couldn't see exactly where it was coming from up top but my guess is from the bottom of the waterpump maybe.

I've had heating issues in cold weather that I noticed last winter. she can spew hot air from the heater until it dips below 0.

Any takers?

yes they have a weep hole..... its leaks all the time just when you stop it puddles... signs of worn bearing in water pump, replace or plug the whole till you can get a new one. I had the same issue when I slid off one day and slammed my frame rail. Then the new pump had too much pressure and blew a bypass hose which lead to death of sohc ka #1

yeah your best bet would be to replace the pump before it goes completely when you least expect it to..... and its always when your broke.

I'd probably just replace the pump and gaskets for sure. If that pump is strating to fail, would you think that the poor coolant circulation would cause little to no heat in the cabin?

Got to bring this one back from almost the grave...

Is it possible that because I have air in my system that the pressure is being relieved through the weephole when the car is shut off? This doesn't happen all the time but now that it's really cold out I have no heat. The t-stat is not even a year old.

I did some coolant system checks tonight and coolant is definitely getting circulated throughout the motor, its moving well in the radiator. I was thinking of doing a complete drain and refill.
