Does the J30 have a kickdown switch?

I was wondering this because, when I try to merge in freeway traffic, my j30 does not drop down to a lower gear so I can pass. The acceleration is sluggish at mid-range also, both places where a kickdown switch would come into play. Is there one on our cars?

Keep your foot down on the pedal while accelerating and you'll hear a click and feel a surge.

I've tried that numerous times. Does that mean the switch is not working?

Where is it located? I just might have to replace it.

The switch is somewhere by the gas pedal. I believe you can hear it even with the car off when you press the pedal all the way down. Click, click.

Thought that was the WOT switch,Mine down shifts long before I floor it.
