I have an iPhone and was wondering if any of the various kits available for iPod integration work on the iPhone. Anyone have any experience in this respect? Anyone have any other solutions?

I think helio's question was on the "playing music via iPod" side of the iPhone, not so much using bluetooth on the phone. Assuming that's his question, I'd say it's a good one, because I've been wondering the same thing this week.

I'll post anything if I figure it out.

I have it for my ipod and I love it. You can change songs and it charges battery.

it probably wont. anyone with an iphone knows that most ipod accessories except the most simple chargers and headphones don't work with the iPhone.

Hey Helio,

I went to the Apple Store today and they had a few options. Some for decks with cassette players some for decks with auxillary jacks (neither of which I have). They had one (I already forget the brand) that was made for iPod but approved for iPhone that broadcast over the FM radio, so I bought it ($80) and tried it.

It was simple to use and worked. But, no matter what stations I used, I got random static every 30-60 seconds, like bad reception. After playing with it for about an hour, I drove back and returned it.

I just got a new 08 G35-S last week with infiniti's ipod integration solution.

I plug the iphone in and store it in the center compartment.

The car seamlessly uses the iphone for the music library and the phone with no issues.

My only issue is that I cannot import my iphones contact list into the infiniti's computer via blutooth...the infiniti system has a feature to import it but it doesnt work with >any< smartphones it seems.

So I just program and make voice profiles for my most used numbers - office, home etc.

I too have found the combination of the iPhone and '08 G35 to work well. A couple of wishes perhaps someone out there can figure out how to accomplish:

- when I plug in the cable from the armrest, you always get this message asking to go into Airplane mode. I wish you could avoid that (just a nuisance, not really a big deal).

- I installed the ProClipUSA mount to the side of the center console for the iPhone. To use it, I also had to get an iPod extension cable (interestingly seemed to be made by same company as the cable that came with the G35). It all works fine, but I would like to find a way to permanently feed the cable through the console's bottom to then go next to the seat and finally reach to the mount without going through the indentation opening underneath the lid. Is there anyway to do this? If so, how invasive, difficult would it be to do yourself?

I have an 08 M45 and have NOT been able to play music from the iPhone. I get the message about Airplane mode, and then I can't do anything from the car controls. It says iPod, but doesn't let me get into it. Any ideas?

Yet another PICNIC error. I was trying to hit ENTER when I saw iPod on the screen, and that didn't work. You have to hit DISC/AUX which takes you into the iPhone. DOH!
