Does the EX35 look more like a car or a SUV without ROOF RAI

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Does the EX35 look more like a car or a SUV without roof rails . I do not like the look of the EX35 as much when they come with roof rails on them. Makes the EX35 look very awkward but without roof rails the EX35 looks mean ,SLEEK and like a sporty G25 or G37.What do you guys think of the EX35 without ROOF RAILS more SPORTY car look or a weird in between suv look.
I do realize that alot of 2010 EX35 were produced without roof rails as compared to the other years of production. Thanks guys NO roof rails..

Let me guess... your last Thread on "Roof Rails Suck" dried up... and now you want to start another one?

ROOF RAILS SUCK, PART ONE

You've made your point... aka, your name.

Sorry - I think it looks better with the rails and the cross-bars... But I am not changing my name.

I will...
I'll change my user name to...

I WANT SHAVED ROOF RAILS

or

SHAVE MY RAILS

or

RAILS WHATEVER...

Why do the NON-roof railers or NO-rail people feel sooo inadequate as to harp their opinion on someone else in a rude and intimidating manner. Asking rhetorical questions over-and-over.

If u like ur car to look like it has a greasy slicked back hair style then fine. I'm not going to say it looks better or worse.

To Each their Own - That is why all cars are not all the same color, or have the same wheels, or interior - and everyone knows this is the truth.

I keep looking in here for mods, or tuning,or enhancements, or maintenance and I'm in the middle of writing up my own modification DIY.

But to have a recurring thread with an "adult" supposedly doing gorilla chest beats on the most inconsequential of things related to the EX is just sad.

We saw and we posted our opinions on the last thread and have not given it a 2nd thought. No one is holding anyone's feet to the fire - make your decision and live with it because u really do have to live with it. None of us will be there with other EX owners when they drive so be happy with ur choice.

There is no need to justify anything to us.

Don't tempt me XIS.

That would make me more infamous than no rails himself.

Not nice for a lady to be so... crude though.

I like the roof rails so much I bought a set of Yakima cross bars for it.

If I prefered the vehicle to not have rails .. and be "sleeker and sportier" , like a G35 (etc) I would have bought a G35 hell probably similiar cargo space anyway !

I like the rails. I just wish the OEM crossbars were more versatile. Has anyone ever tried drilling new holes to create more options for positioning?

Do you mean holes in the rail to move the crossbars aft or forward .. I suspect you would need to TAP (thread) and new holes.. morever I suspect there are threaded inserts in the rails .
If you mean drill holes in the crossbars to allow for bycycle / ski carriiers .. well I'd rather buy a second set of "thule" / sport rack or Yakima crossbars then risk drilling the Infinity one$ (just my thoughts)

when it comes to crossbars kijiji is your friend

I don't think you could drill new holes and have the crossbars still fit... the two crossbars are different lengths (rails get wider the farther back you go)

They will only fit where they are made to fit.

Thanks. I haven't gotten around to measuring yet. Having the bars about 18 inches apart is another way that Infiniti saps the utility out of CUV. I love the car but after driving a Highlander for 10 years find this stuff really frustrating.
