I just used 3 ties w/ out drilling holes to pull in the sides. On the top where the bumper meets w/ the fender the where 3-4 small holes in the bumper. I looped a zip tie through them and behind the fender/bumper there is a plastic thing that I looped the zip tie around. I then pulled them tight. Then put the screw back in that holds the bumper and pushed back the fender well liner. Took 5 minutes.
Also for the bumper I thought the 3m tape was stupid, so I drilled holes through the 2 pieces that use the tape and then used zip ties. I'm not a fan of 3m tape holding parts together together that has pressure pulling them apart. I only like 3m tape for things like moldings.
I also had to buy longer bolts for the front points. The bolts they gave were too short. I could grind down the plastic where the holes where drilled under the bumper, but I didn't have a grinder tool that would fit into the area and it was easier just buying longer bolts.
Also there was pretty extensive prep work that had to be done on the bumper. There was a couple hairline cracks where the grill meets w/ the bumper and tons of little pin holes all over the bumper.
So basically it you are buying this bumper and want it to look good its not as easy as scuff, paint, and mount. The instructions make you think this if you read, but it also says professional install is recommended (which a professional will see all the flaws and fix them....and charge you $$$$). So my experience was it fits nearly perfect (except the corner bumper area pushing out sometimes). The prep consisted of scuff, clean, primer, filling all the holes and fixing a couple hair line cracks, sanding, priming again to make sure cracks where fixed, painting, some pin holes came through after the paint....., sand, fill, prime, paint. Bought (2) longer bolts and used zip ties to hold parts of the bumper together (parts that where supposed to be held together with 3m tape). Then mounted the bumper and used zip ties to fix the corner issues. Overall the bumper looks and fits great, but took some work to get it perfect. You could just scuff, paint, and mount but the results will be ok at best.
