i got the car in june and used to get around 21mpg. now im only getting around 17 and i drive like a grandma. its not just the sensor thing either cause i reset my odometer when i get gas. i used to reach 400miles easily before the warning went off. now it starts warning me around 325miles. i checked my tire pressure too and thats fine. cold?? i dont know..

i thought the cold was actually supposed to help your mpg because everything starts to run smoother. But i dont know much since i live in miami and its hot all the time.

Might be because you're driving slower than normal, driving slower = worse mpg.

optimal mpg is around 55mph / 90km/h. any higher or lower and you get worse mileage.

+1 Zerep lol. I never go the speed limit around here where I live. (No tickets so far!)

It does here in Wisconsin! 10 minutes to warm it up and de-ice the windows and remove the snow

i only drive my car to a couple of places so i would assume that because i drive the same streets and everything i would use the same amount of gas. but would driving a little slower than normal really take off more than 75 miles? im not sure if thats enough to change my mpg by that much

yes it does, a lot.first, gas stations use different gasoline during the winter time. it's a lot worse then summer gasoline.second, cold engine doesn't run as efficiently as a warmed up engine. oil is thicker at lower temps and more energy is wasted moving components.third, you waste more time warming up your car in the winter then you do in the same. standing still with car running = bad mpg.

right now i'm lucky to get 350 miles a tank in city driving, while in summer time i was able to get 450 constantly.

LOL you may be correct, since you are from Florida, when it's really hot in the summer the engine can loose power, and since you don't need to defrost your car, you probably do get better MPG! I know the race track times in the Winter are way better in Florida for those reasons
