Just recently picked up an 07 g35x, coming away from an 03 350z. For those who did/do not know, G35's pre HR motor have notoriously known to have problems with oil seeping from inside the valve cover into the tubes isolating sparkplugs from the rest of the head and oiling system. Some worse than others, primarily cyl 6, and possibly cyl 5 are affected. Coil packs can become increasingly flooded with oil overtime potentially creating poor conductivity between coil and plug resulting in poor spark performance up to a non firing cylinder. I've searched around, found countless threads on this issue be it this website, alongside g35driver, and others... and it is a very well documented issue for V35's, but I couldn't find anyone posting issues specifically stating their v36 with this issue, I understand most of us also do not have enough miles on the clock, to warrant a spark plug change, although some may be close! rather than assuming and tearing apart my new purchase right away, is this common knowledge to anyone that the hr is not affected by the poor design of the de valve cover and grommets? Am I rid the oil submerged coil pack? Anyone have enough mileage on their 3.5 v36 clock, and did their own sparkplugs that could contribute?
