does the 07+ VQ35HR still suffer from leaky valve covers?

Just recently picked up an 07 g35x, coming away from an 03 350z. For those who did/do not know, the pre HR motors have been notoriously known to have problems with oil seeping from inside the valve cover into the tubes isolating sparkplugs from the rest of the head and oiling system. Some worse than others, primarily cyl 6, and possibly cyl 5 are affected. Coil packs can become increasingly flooded with oil overtime potentially creating poor conductivity between coil and plug resulting in poor spark performance up to a non firing cylinder (I KNOW this is common information for most, just in case i thought i would throw a little history lesson / info in there for those not 'in the know'). I've searched around, found countless threads on this issue be it this website, alongside others... and it is a very well documented issue for the 35DE's, but I couldn't find anyone posting issues specifically stating that their VQ35HR has had this issue, rather than assuming and tearing apart my new purchase right away the same way I pulled apart my 03 Z, is this common knowledge to anyone that the hr is not affected by the poor design of the de valve cover and grommets? Am I rid the oil submerged coil pack? Anyone have enough mileage on their 3.5HR clock, and did their own sparkplugs that could contribute?

I had a buddy with about 40k miles on the clock and didn't have any engine issues whatsoever before he got rid of his. My 370 is a bit different setup, but I have about 34k on the clock without anything like that. Around springtime some things will get taken apart and I will report back here with any issues.

I will ask my buddy with his 07 350. I highly doubt it's an issue with his. He has around 70k miles on his.

that sounds good; was hoping the leaky valve cover issue was discovered and brought to Nissan's attention before the final roll out of the HR power plant. It's not a quick issue to catch as it may take 70k in miles to find out :P
