Seriously I was looking through the list of supported phones and not that I looked at every one, but not a single one existed that all the features were available. Several can download a single phonebook entry but none that I saw support the entire phonebook download. However just out of curiosity I checked to see if it was the same on other vehicles and and apparently the 2010 models support "Phonebook access" and you can download the entire phonebook(but not single entries). Do you suppose there is a way to upgrade the bluetooth system? I know that Microsoft Sync systems have available firmware updates but I can't find anything about whatever system nissan uses. Am I just doomed to not ever being able to have all the features(or most of them anyways)?
And does it seems that they haven't been adding new phones lately? Their "currently in testing" list seems rather puny. I am seriously considering getting an Iphone if only because I know it will work. My current phone(LG Xenon) doesn't work with the system, but my last phone(LG Shine) worked wonderfully I just needed something easier to type with. I like my dads Samsung Solstice but it doesn't exsist anywhere on the list so I don't want to get it if it wont work. :bang
Does anybody know if the new Droids work with the system?(Not that I can get one with ATT, but just wondering).

The problem with many of these Bluetooth handsfree systems, is there is no one 'standard'. Bluetooth defines the connection and hardware... but the actual process of how the phone interacts with the Bluetooth device seems to be up to the phone mfg. I've run across the same issue with my BlueAnt handsfree where one phone works with the address book , while another only gives me handsfree and no address book functionality.

As for upgrades, AFAIK there is no way to upgrade the Nissan Bluetooth system. But I could be wrong...

I bought my wife an iPhone 3GS last month, and while it was super easy to get it to connect to her Rogue's Bluetooth system, I have yet to get it to automatically sync its phonebook. Just like with my BlackBerry, she has to enter each entry manually. Especially frustrating since Nissan specifically states that the system supports phonebook downloads for iPhones.

Meanwhile, the Parrot Mini I have in my car (that I got for less than $80), grabs both of our phonebooks automatically and even automatically syncs changes. Go figure.

They work for bluetooth handsfree but I haven't found a way to transfer the phone book or even individual contacts. There's a Bluetooth File Transfer app that looked promising and it seemed to work on the Droid side but the Rogue's BT system never responded when I got it to the point where it was ready to receive an address book entry transfer. Thankfully, the phone book in our Rogue's BT system was already set up with my fiancee's former phone which was capable of transferring entries so all we had to do was go into setup and replace her old phone. With my Droid I had to manually program a few entries that I use.

I doubt that the system is really updatable. The auto manufacturers rarely bother with such features and I don't think they want to support anything like that. You're probably better off replacing the headunit with one that has better Bluetooth support.

As for the compatbility lists: in my experience they're never complete and they're never updated so I really wouldn't count on them either (from any manufacturer). There are just too many new devices constantly being released for a car maker or its OEM's to test and certify each one.

Does your droid dial the numbers from the Nissan BT system or do you have to dial from the phone?

Either way. To dial from the BT system you have to transfer contacts (for 2008 anyway) or manually enter them.
