I bought a cheapy exhaust, straight piping from cat back with about a 2 1/2" exhaust at the rear. The guy threw in the silencer so i said sure, but now after thinking about it, could the silencer be preventing more exhaust from coming out faster. Just wondering if I took it out if the exhaust flow would be better and be better for performance or just better for the car in general. Thanks

The silencer will restrict the exhaust flow. I had to do that to my old GP Sports Spec D to get some backpressure to open my EGR back in the day.

You can take it out and have better exhaust flow, however you will have to deal with the cops wanting to check under the hood because your exhaust is louder than stock. Silencers are good for street use. Take it out when you go to the track. Other wise you will get some attention you do not want.

Oh....I am familar with Sherman Oaks, Ca. I used to live close to Sepulveda and Ventura Blvd. My girlfriend is still there. I had to leave because of some unfortunate events. Jobs are hard to find out there.
