The J30 is not a car I would be "getting" to do a project on. Many other better suited project cars. Not enuf support or parts for anything other than just keeping it stock imo.Nealoc187 wrote:I'm considering getting a J30 for a project car, but through the FAQ and searching without success on this forum I've learned that apparently no one makes lowering springs for the J30. I saw a link to a company called coilspringspecialties.com but that website no longer exists. I could have eibach make custom ones if necessary but that's kindof a pain in the butt. With all the parts bin engineering that nissan does, I'd assume that the setup from at least some other nissan would work or could be relatively easily modified to work.
were i to get one, the engine, trans, engine management, etc would be going in the trash (well not in the trash but they'd no longer be used). custom stuff is not a deal breaker, just a hassle. the reason i'd be getting it is because it's a RWD nissan four door and that makes some things that I'd be doing much easier (less fab work required for drivetrain, engine mounting, etc) and it's lighter than the Q. in addition to that, I've always thought they were neat looking, and you certainly don't see many of them at the track.gr8scott72 wrote:

Well said, sir. I think a J on the track/strip would be really fresh. I think the lack of aftermarket support would not only add to the originality of the car, but also attest to the fact that you are inventive and doing new things. Please keep us informed, sounds like an awesome project to me. Good Luck.Nealoc187 wrote: the reason i'd be getting it is because it's a RWD nissan four door, it's lighter than the Q. in addition to that, I've always thought they were neat looking, and you certainly don't see many of them at the track.
