Well you got to make sure that you have good tires, shocks and brakes And no cops or any people around just in case.

Try E-mance for the ECU upgrade, I have no idea if he removes the speed limiter though.

Im not aware that my 94 has been tuned and Ive been up to 130 a few times.

And yes it was after I bought V rated tires and was on a isolated flat road.

Can any tech chime in to verify what years were limited to what speed ??

I have been up to 118 mph in my 97 J30. I am the second owner (@39,000 miles) & nothing has been modded as far as I know.

yes, the J30 has a top speed governor, it is governed by the ECU's main Chip to a max speed of 110MPH, and the RPM limit (when at idle, and when the auto transmission changes gears) is also governed by the same Chip.....

ECU speed limit programming varies by country.Generally cars that come new with H rated tires have a speed limit setting of 128 mph to avoid exceeding the 130 mph limit on those tires.

Considering that tires, diff gear and transmission 4th gear result in 385 rpm per 10 mph, 110 mph would 4240 rpm.US programming was 130 mph which due to tire expansion at speed might be a real 127-128 mph............................you should be able to hit 122-125 mph in 3rd gear before the 6900 rpm rev limiter engages.

Didn't have any issues. But don't EVEN try it if you don't have proper rated tires.

Just wanted to see what she would do.Grew up in a racing family so that 130 wasn't much compared to 185 in my Bro's pro stock. That was a white knuckle run for sure.
