They probably get a good idea whether you're serious about owning one and then decide whether to let an American test drive it. They're gonna make sure you know how to drive stick well, and make sure you can handle RHD.

Obviously, this aint your ordinary dealership, so i wouldnt be surprised their potential customer service is different as well.

ha, Mitsu doesnt really let people even test drive the EVO's unless u fill out most of the paper work(well, that was when i went for a test drive a few months ago)

i highly doubt they give out test drives unless the down payment has been made

and could you imagine what would happen if you damaged the car?

its doubtful. it is higly possibe that they could give you a ride if you are nice and polite. they have a long street that they are on so it could be fun.

I've been in one, I've chilled with a few people over there, and was willing to wash the Skylines one day ;)

They're cool guys over there, but not that cool, heheheh.

Not that I've asked, but I'd bet money they don't make it a habit in their business. My understanding is that every single car they bring over is done only after a customer has put a significant amount of money down for the vehicle, so in a sense, all Skylines on the premises have already been bought. It would be unfair to the buyer to allow other potential customers a test drive in their vehicles. Granted, the cars aren't new, but still, each is a large sum of money out the door.Wanna know who gets to drive the Skylines? The techs of course. The shop faces a large cul-de-sac, and the pavement on the street is almost completely covered in donut-shaped treadmarks. :)

I'd be happy to just ride in one. I saw an R34 at a car show back home and it was so sexy. My friends and I were just staring forever.

will they let you test drive the Skyline? .. never gonna happen man. Sometime ago back in 2001 before I sold my 240 I went in to 3 Honda dealers to test drive S2000, none of them let me. They said it's their policy not to let customer test drive unless all the papers work went thru blah blah blah. stupid ..

BTW you can't even get a test drive on Mitsu Evo .. don't believe me go try it.

I think I had a part to do with the no test drive policy on S2000's!! Here in Golden, we have a Honda dealership and my good friend Luke purchased a used 98 Prelude. While he was getting his cash together, I asked about the S2000 and the guy, Andy, must have thought that I too wiped my *** with $100 bills.

I hit the very first intersection in 2nd gear near redline and tossed that tailend right around through the turn, jail-break style. I was asked to head back to the lot.

I'd buy a new 2.2 liter S2000 for my girlfriend once I get a real job......as long as I get the hard top with it.

I called them and checked on getting a skyline....you give them a finders fee....and a list of three vehicles you want (years color options etc)..they find it for you and let you know they ahve located it. If you want it the paperwork is drawn and you pay for it, they import it. They charge you to federalize it (an R32 GT-R will run you min 34K through them)....so basically every vehicle they have is sold before it hits their doors....barring a few here and there....

34K for used R32 .. hmm .. no thanks .. I thought about it too right after I sold 240sx but I realized I'm paying somewhat close to 40K for a unknown history, 6-7+ years old used car.

I was lead to believe motorex didnt sell GTR's that they took GTS's and turbo'd them to make them a GTS-T. I guess I was wrong.

skylines are not worth it at all.. there nice cars.. but for a new R34 GT-R there like 80g's .. can u say Porche 911? R32 are so old and dont look nearly as good as the R34, but damn there engines work good in 240's :)

i've driven a RHD car before, well a few actually, on the lovely island of indonesia, it's real different, would take a while getting used to, it feels weird. you know that feeilng you had when you first drove a car, and weren't sure where you were between the lines on the road and stuff, yah feels like that.

Unprotected left turns suck with RHD when there's oncoming traffic turning left too. But if you're in a Skyline, chances are you'll have a line of people asking to sit in the passenger seat, and they can tell you when it's clear.

It funny you should mention that about the evo. Me and former 240 just test drove an evo about three hours ago. We beat the hell out of that thing. It was nice but I wasn't that impressed to be honest. I'll still take an STI any day.
