Anyone know who Nissan sources for the a/c compressors in the F50’s ? :gotme
I’ve notice several things under my 2005 hood are Mitsubishi; (alternator; starter; and a couple others..)
From what I understand Mitsubishi is not known to be the “best” in the JDM- I can see why as I have replaced 3 Mitsubishi components... hoping Mitsubishi didn’t manufacture the a/c compressors, but it would make total sense with there involvement in HVAC..

Calsonic is Nissan's typical compressor go-to company, and appears to be for the F50. This is based on a few ebay listings for compressors that have been pulled from salvaged Q45s.

Ok- thanks for the info; have you heard of many successful stories with these junk yard pulls? I’m not sure if I should go the used route with as much labor involved.. mines still working but the knocking clacking is getting louder..

I wouldn't take a chance on it if you're paying for labor. Might be worth having a trusted professional listen to it to see if they think this is a major issue or not. I tend to fixate on noises myself... the fan motor in my truck is wrapped in bubble wrap due to a ticking noise that drove me nuts. So I know that sometimes it's useful to have someone else filter how severe the problem actually is.

Sounds like me.. so I have baisically googled my year and model Q45 and have found on several websites that the 2005 & 2006 compressor is way smaller than 2004-2002 models. Also, it doubles in cost.. do you know what changed for 2005 & 2006 models ? I can’t find anywhere that will give me details on type and brand and so forth for my year- 2005. $617 from parts geek for 05 & 06 and $320 for 02-04.. what happened..?

Check out the factory service manuals for the different years of the Q45 at www.infinitiservicemanual.com for the manufacturer names. You can compare parts between years at Infiniti's web site under the parts store link at the bottom. If the hoses connecting to the compressor, accessory belt, and other a/c components don't change - I'd say it may be backward compatible. Calsonic has been Nissan's compressor supplier for a while, but maybe they were making changes to standardize the compressor across lines?

As with all machined parts each manufacturing facility will bid or contract items to produce at a lesser cost. Of course some plants are equipped with different or better types of machinery which levy that ability. Nissan owned mitsubishu around 35% within 2000s. And some vehicles today are udenti
