Does it matter what brand of springs I get?

So I have an 92 NA that is now running on the 350Z's stocks 17's but it actually raised my car... =T now all my friends are making fun of me, calling it the 'SUZ'... >=T I already got my shocks replaced but that was before I got my 17's otherwise, I would've gotten springs done the same time. I'm reluctant to pay for labor again but my real concern is does it matter what brand of springs I use? This is a very old car, almost hitting 200k but runs fine. There's quite a few 'generic' ones on ebay... as well as the always cheaper than brand names, Bomz ones. My friends all tell me to go for Eibach but since I really don't plan on keeping the car for more than 2, 3 yrs tops, I don't feel like dropping 3-4 bills on Eibachs... Any constructive comments and suggestions awill be appreciated... =)

Go with a quality spring. Eibach, Tein, H&R, and HKS all make quality lowering springs for the 300zx.

You get what you pay for and suspension is a huge part of your car. DO NOT buy generic ebay junk.

And FYI, Eibachs aren't that expensive. They are easy to find in the $200 range. Certainly not 3-4 bills.

I found some Tein's on ebay for about $150 or so shipped. The claimed drop is 1.4" front and .08" rear... would it settle after a while and drop even further?

All springs settle a little bit. Shouldn't be a whole lot more though.

I got K Sport Coilovers on my car, they are extremely nice since they are fully adjustable. Another thing I like is the fact that I can change them from soft to hard in about 2 minutes without any tools. That’s extremely helpful since the car is a daily and sees the track on the weekends. The cost is not to bad ether, about $500 for the kit, brand new with warranty.
