why don't u just keep the transmission but replace the engine? only the engine blew up & not the transmission rite? Doesn't make sense to do a manual -> auto conversion for most ppl...

And yes, auto's suck up a lot of power, relatively.

i am pretty sure he took a ka out of an auto and swapped it into his manual 240sx.

Ok, then he was wondering about the automatic engine vs manual engine??? I was thinking that afterwards, but it just didn't make sense.

nissanboy91, if you were wondering that, the engines are the same btwn auto & manual (there are slight differences in regards to diff years, but that's another story), just the trannies are different... perhaps more descriptive writing next time w/ some better punctuation? .

p.s. welcome to the boards.

about 5-10 whp if you are manual and if by full exhaust you mean header/hi-flow cat or test piped & catback. if just intake/exhaust... you are looking around 5whp.

Removal of a catalytic converter has very little to no gains from what I've seen unless you've got a highly modified engine. If you're talking about just a header, I'd suggest leaving the cat on. You can't just make broad generalizations with an exhaust. Not all exhausts will make power. There are sacrifices generally with low end power for top end or vice versa. Dyno your new exhaust instead of asking for broad numbers that may not reflect the performance gains from your particular exhaust system.
