Does Infiniti have diff platform code for diff years?

How does Infiniti tell the difference between the same car and different years?

IE Audi has the B5 platform ending 02, B6 for years 03-06, B7 platform years 07+

ie. BMW has like e39, e60 for the different cars.

How you tell the difference between 07 G35 and 06 G35 in a conversation?

Hope this isn't too dumb of a question, and if anyone respond simply tell them the year of the car.... slap yourself!

I don't know about the platform but there are different things got changed over the years. Example different bumper,headlights,etc.
