I am running a speed density conversion on my S13 DET, which means I am using a MAP sensor instead of a MAF sensor to measure engine load.Anyway, I currently have the idle tube on the SR sucking air in from atmosphere, it is not plumbed into the intercooler charged piping anywhere.I am getting some funny symptoms:boost gauge only reading 10in HG at idle (about half of normal). Blow off valve not functioning, and its not the valve. car not getting boost when driving (or at least it doesnt feel like it).IS it necessary that I plumb the idle into the charge pipe?Has anyone had an experience like this?

thanks

you most likely do need the idle tube plumbed in. Do you atleast have the hose from the intercooler piping plugged? check for vacumm leaks all over the piping. You most likely have a vacuum leak

I tripple checked all the silicone couplers and fittings and the system is tight.I custom made all the intercooler piping from aluminum, so there is no hole on the piping that needs to be plugged. I think I will weld on a bung and plumb the idle into it, I think I would be better off.

Did you check to make sure the source of vacuum for the BOV is actually working. Sometimes the vacuum sources are just holes that dont give off any vac signal.
