Just replaced the ThrottleBody, IACV and ECM on my 2001 maxima. Now won't start, as -- based on earlier forum posts-- the keys need to be programmed with the ECM.
Here's my question: Does the ECM failure cause the IACV to burn out -- OR -- vice versa?
If ta bad ECM chip will not bother the IACV, I could just cable it in, drive it down and have it programmed.
But, if a bad ECM chip will burn out the new IACV all over again, then I need to make two trips to the dealer. One to reprogram the keys, then go home, put new ECM back in again, and drive the car down and have the dealer reprogram the rest of the system to the new computer.
BTW... found an ECM at a local salvage yard for $200, and a complete throttle body, IACV and TPS for $88.
God willing, it will all come together. Another $105 to have the dealer reprogram the ECM.
Thanks in advance for any insights on what causes what to burn out.
