I reserve the right to pass personal judgement on anyone I want to. Because I can...

With that said, people make far to big of a deal about race. Bush was white and I didn't like him either. Clinton I liked and he got head in the White House from an ugly fat broad. But who gives a crap about that right? IMO it made him a person like the rest of us.

Judge people by their actions, not their color/creed/religion.

As there should be.

However, that will come with a price:

The rejection and public chastisement of all who invoke "race" as atool to minimize or discredit conscientious and well-considered criticism.

We can save ourselves some trouble - Since we're going to package up the offenders and ship them off to parts unknown so that we can get back to rational coexistence, let's select the guilty parties like a schoolyard pickup game... I'm guessing Al, Jesse and Rush will be the top three drafts.

My turn:

Whoopi's gotta get on the boat... I thought about tossing Wanda Sykes in there with her, but...

1) Rev Sharpton might have a heart attack seeing them engaged in "unnatural acts"....

2) Wanda's really not relevant enough.

You're up.

By the way, someone please tell the ACLU that it's all nice and "neutral" in our boat so far.

Eh, Sykes is a comedian. She says what she says to be funny.

I mean, Whoopi is a comedian too, but Sykes has set up her entire career around being an easily offended black lady for the sake of amusing people and collecting checks. She's as in on the joke as anyone.

Whoopi takes herself infinitely more seriously than Wanda does.

My list:

-Coulter-Olbermann-Michelle Bachmann (more of a media personality than a legislator any-damn-way)-Joe Lieberman

Yep. That's the not-so-funny reason she's not getting on the boat.

I'm not so sure your picks are terribly guilty of race-baiting... At least leave Lieberman behind, he's amusing if nothing else.

Besides, you're making my boat WAY too White, dammit.

I'd say throw Kanye and Nagy in there to balance things out, but Nagy won't be relevant again unless it rains, and Kanye might just force the rest of them to jump overboard and swim back.

There was a time when I'd have picked The Cos to go along for the ride, but he's all over the map... He's pissing off both sides these days.

Not sure the Cos would use the term "spade", but he's said some brilliant and some retarded things of late.

First he's ranting against young Black males for their irresponsible behavior and railing against the whole "babydaddy" culture... in the next breath, he's labeling people as racists for not holding the same view of a situation...

Part of the problem is that people don't recognize themselves as being racist, even if they are. That applies whether the racism is a conscious decision or not.

Here's a great example that just came to light this week.

Nice link on the article Helio. Its easily one of the best pieces I've read in a long time. And you were right on with the Mike Davis and Coach Knight (he'll always be Coach to me) analogy. Like you, I was in Bloomington at the time and it wasn't a race thing at all like so many tried to make it out to be. I don't know that IU could have brought in anyone that would have made the fans & alum happy.

Racism is clearly visible in the common terminology. When I, a "blue-eyed devil, am discriminated against, it's called "reverse racism." How's that? Let's analyze that. The addition of "reverse" suggests that this instance goes counter to the norn, ie: only white people can be "racist." Nice. When Al Sharpton yells racist at, pretty much anyone else, I have a hard time not commenting on the irony.

The JP needs to counter-sue.

He has every right to refuse.

Beth Humphrey, 30, and Terence McKay, 32, both of Hammond, said they will consult the U.S. Justice Department about filing a discrimination complaint.

These two need to jump off a damn bridge. Instead of just asking another JP, they've gotta go and make a big stink about it.

What a bunch of goddam crybabies.

Is his refusal to comply with their wishes hurting them AT ALL?

THIS is the kind of BS that people are fed the hell up with.

The LEFT has turned into the Thought Police. You can't even act in a way that's in keeping with your own values, because the ACLU will ruin your life.

Here's MY beef: The ACLU has historically DEFENDED those who choose to step outside the norm, and those who choose certain lifestyles that run counter to the status quo.

Yet, here's a "holdover", a guy who simply holds a personal belief that interracial marriage is detrimental to the offspring, and yet they go AFTER HIM!!!

Doesn't he have the RIGHT to believe that? Where are his rights??? What about HIS civil liberties????

Maybe he's a crackpot. Maybe he's a racist. He has a RIGHT to be, and he has a RIGHT to refuse to sign their paperwork.

This makes me sick to my stomach. The ACLU is a joke.

I gotta disagree with you there. The JP should just marry people and not impose his or her personal beliefs on them. It is racist and it is bulls*** that I am certainly fed up with. Rather than have a nice memory of their union they will instead be reminded that some people will never grow up and shelve their hatred. This does hurt them and the JP needs to feel the pain in return.

Civil liberties as a justification for bigoted behavior? Seriously? Your civil liberties end when you start to impact upon another's. If this joker wants to stand on this issue, don't get married a black person yourself. Otherwise, do your f***in job.

Whenever I hear someone say something like this after making a questionable decision.
JP white sheet wrote:I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home; I marry them; they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else.

Alarms go off.

Wow, you let them negroes pee in your toilet eh? You're one of the good ones. You don't "treat them like everyone else." As soon as they walk in with a white person on their arm lookin ta git hitched, they get shown the door,,,,based solely upon their race. And....

Sorry, I ain't buying it. Maybe being married to a woman of a different race gives me a little more insight into how that couple feels. We just bought a house. The first bank wouldn't credit my income towards a loan even though I make more than my wife and offered to deposit 10k in their bank just to add a little more insurance that roundeye wasn't frontin. No go. The second bank did the same thing and went a step further and refused to loan my wife any money because she was married to an American. I don't mean I deduced this from subtle clues; they told us straight to our faces. They did smile and say "I'm sorry" of course.

It was only pressure from the housing agency that moved the first bank off their stand and we got the house so I guess we weren't hurt, right? WRONG, I had to watch my wife hold back her shock and sadness as we walked out of the second bank. I'm used to the racism here, but she was not ready for that and it really hurt her. I suspect having the JP pull this s*** really stung for this couple and it needs to be called out.

AZ, they did get married by another JP. However, the JP that refused to marry them is not allowed by law to do what he did. For that alone he should be removed from office and charged. Prosecuted for the same civil rights violations that the feds charge with when a cop beats a back man after a dangerous car chase. I don't agree with over 90% of the times they charge the cop, but the feds need to enforce the same laws consistently across the board.

As themadscientist points out, the other quotes from the guy set off alarms. Unfortunately, as I was pointing out by even posting the link, we have many people in this country who don't even realize that their actions are racist in nature. Likewise, I agree with you that too many people play the race card prematurely when it's really not warranted.

Last thought: What's the JP concerned about the kids of a mixed marriage for? There are a ton of kids from non-mixed marriages sitting in prisons all across this country. As for kids from mixed marriages, is he afraid the kids might become liberals and grow up to be President like Obama?

I can certainly see the "other" side of this.

He's an elected official. Maybe his constituents should vote him out of office, then.

Sorry, I still think the couple are idiots for seeking legal action.

Mike, your situation is significantly different with the bank. Not cool at all.

May be, but that's for you and your children to decide and certainly not the decision of the guy that married (or decided not to marry) you. Base solely on skin color, at that.
