Ok, maybe this is a sports topic BUT it does involve congress...

Why is congress having all these athletes to testify before them regarding their steroid use habits? Im just not following how that is pertinent to the economy, or our national defense. If you are I had a mary-jane issue would we be called before congress? Sorry maybe someone can shed some light on why this is something congress even needs to be concerned with. Anyone?

BTW - RC is an idiot, he didnt even HAVE to testify regarding his use, he did so voluntarily so ... either he really was clueless that he was being injected, or he is colossally stupid. Are there lots of OTHER LEGAL injections that athletes get on a regular basis that would constitute having injections done and not realizing they were steroids? Sounds sketchy at best to me.

Roger Clemens and the other Baseball hearings in the past were in the purview of Congress for two reasons: the anti-trust exemptions for MLB and the Controlled Substances Act's regulation of performance-enhancing drugs combine to create a situation where every factor of the issue is within Congressional authority to regulate.

But I can't speak to your question about priorities.

It's strictly a diversion and power trip like everything else Congress is doing these days. Politicians have no desire to actually discuss and deal with difficult issues.
