Does brakelight switch failure = brake lights on?

Mine are on even when car is off. I think I just found the cause of my dead battery. Have an Audi that did this. Assume there's a replacable switch behind brake peddle? Thanks for any tips!

I think the plastic stopper that pushes or holds the brake light button might be broken. See the links. You probably have it fixed by now.

Actually did discover that it was those little buttons that dried out and fell apart. Picked up two new ones last week but can't get the bastards to pop into place. May end up using a couple of those pop-in clip things like your link shows. Thanks!
