Does anyone want to loan 20,000 Sky Miles to me?

Ok NICO, here's the deal:

My grandmother passed away on Friday and I booked a bereavement flight back to RI for tomorrow (around noon). It cost about $900. I have 21,000 sky miles, but the flight requires 40,000. I just signed up for the Delta credit card, which gives you 30,000 miles, but they won't hit my bucket for another month.

There ARE other options for me (flying into a different airport, renting a car, etc) that could save me some cash, but so far this is the easiest logistics-wise.

Bottom line: if anyone has about 20,000 sky miles they could please loan me, I could transfer them back in about a month.

Hey dude, I can transfer you 18k miles (as we discussed earlier, I already booked my flight and don't need these miles right away). However, transferring miles isn't free. To transfer 18k miles costs $240. Then it would be another $240 to transfer them back to me. Not sure if that's worth it to you or not.

Besides, I need to replace the oil filter block seal in the Prelude before I try to tackle a trip like that in it. The miata doesn't have heat, and the 240 doesn't have cruise.

I also just booked a rental car for ~90 bucks for the 4 days... which is refundable if my cousin or someone wants to/can pick me up and drop me off. Bouya!

Thanks everyone (old topic). Now my grandfather isn't doing so well. Can't really blame him. My grandmother did EVERYTHING for him inside the house. According to my family, he's really not even getting out of bed as of late. The family has to go over and take care of him. :/
