Does anyone make a good BOV that does'nt cost a fortune?

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

Guys, I figured out my POS turbo XS bov was leaking from the vac side. This was causing almost all of my problems with the car running poorly.

I need to get another BOV. I want something effective that does not cost a ton of cash. I could give a crap what it sounds or looks like honestly.

Suggestions?

Thanks guys - Evan

I got a SARD R2D2 For a 135 from http://www.RHDjapan.com Its very effective and i dont get compressor surge. It also has a very low profile sound, just a loud pressure release.

its all relative. what is 'a fortune?'

we're dealing with RB's. < $200 is not a 'fortune' IMO. with that said, im running a Tial. honestly have no idea how much i paid for it. it was probably around that mark though. it cant leak though. welded on.

I would use the stocker for now but I never had one.

Under 200 I would consider reasonable. You do make a good point though. I have spent alot of cash and skimping (again, the turbo xs was free) is not a good idea.

I am running low boost and have it capped right now. I will likely try to find something used thats in good shape.

Evan

BTW, its not leaking from the base. Its leaking from the vac. side where the nipple is. It would leak if it was welded on too.

or the knock off bov; your risk, but it's $30

your best bet is look for a preowned brand name one on ebay

Why would you spend 200 on a bov when you can get a stocker or 1g dsm one for 30-50? They hold great up to about 20psi, look clean and sound fine.

Good call on the DSM unit. At the very least I could use it successfully until I got something different.

Thanks, I totally forgot about the DSM ones. I must have missed it posted above earlier.
