I was wondering if anyone knows the owner of this car. I have a few questions regarding the suspension and wheels.

Thanks in advance.

SC430 wheels, but I am betting the rubber bands on them aren't sufficiently load rated.

Beautiful car, wheels remind me of the 1991-1993 Q45T wheels:

But it might be somebody's car from the VIP section.

A couple of my neighbors have SC430s. They're ugly cars and those wheels look terrible on them, but they add visual interest to the Q. I like.

The SC430 is a pretty baffling car. It's a 2 seat coupe but weighs 3800 (!!!!) lbs. It's got a V8 but it only makes 300ft-lb at the crank. It doesn't handle remotely well. It doesn't offer a manual trans. It costs SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. It has a tiny trunk that's made more tiny by the folding top. It really doesn't do ANYTHING well at all. It's like the worst aspects of a bunch of non-complimentary automobile types mashed into one ugly beast.

I like the black Q. It's a little bit too low for my taste, but otherwise I like it. I even kinda like the SC wheels on it. I like my 6-spokes better, though.

I agree 100%. I never thought those wheels would look decent on any car. But i kinda like the look on the Q

IIRC, the car's owner is/was on VSC.

The Lexus hub-centric size is smaller, to the wheels hub opening would have to be machined out to accommodate ... or use non-hub-centric spacers since those wheels are like 18x8 +55.

I think he was on air.

Wait ... you asked about this same car like 3 or 4 years ago?!?!

I didn't realize until looking at Lexus.com just now that the SC430 is still in production.

I'm pretty sure the SC430 has a back seat ... doesn't make it a "4-seater", but how many small convertibles are??

The SC430 wheels pictured above had a few different "centers" that allow you to make the same set of wheels have a few different looks.

I actually like these, but again, the offsets are too high for most RWD applications

A year or two ago it was the top car in initial quality for JD Powers.

It the worst selling Lexus by far, I think outside of CA they sell 10 of them a year.

They did that restyle on them and a guy I work with bought one new for over 60k. It sure rides okay, but this is a car that just doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up. This for someone that wants a convertible but doesn't know the difference between a sports car and a Camry.

Those rims look nice on that Q.

^^Exactly! I'd bet that most SC430 owners wouldn't notice if someone swapped the Toyota badge on the Solara convertible for a big stylized L and then parked it in their garage in place of their SC.

Ah, I never noticed the back seats before. Huh. Those rear seats look about as useful as the ones in the IS (which is sad for the IS). ...Sorry, my Lexus-bashing reflex cannot be restrained.

The SC430 was certainly a sorry followup to the classier-Supra SC400. The interior doesn't come close to your 400, either.

So basically this is the only thing that fits in the back seat:

Oh, in that case I take my comment back. The SC's rear seat is not as useful as the IS's. It's MORE useful.
