I was changing my rear end-links today and on the driver side, there was a bracket with a lever connected to some sort of switch. Well the bracket was broken leaving whatever it is useless at the moment....does anyone know what this switch does or have a part number/drawing for this assembly?

That is the sensor that determines how much your vehicle is squatting, to decide how much it should adjust the headlights up and down. In the FSM it is helpfully referred to as the "height sensor", which means it will take a while browsing on the OEM parts sites to find its part number.

FSM - LT (lighting) section, the AFS system is discussed around pg 110.

*Everything seems connected from your picture. Or was something swinging around banging on the suspension components back there?

To add, you can disable the AFS system by the switch, especially if you have no issues with your headlights currently.

Type AFS or something similar in the search bar to see what others have done about it. I know someone was lowered and the system ended up correcting his/her headlights into the sky.
Then, most issues have been a humming or motor sound when the swivel actuators go bad, so most just deactivate the system and have it as a conventional headlamp system.

Edit: here's the link.

Appreciate it....for some odd reason, now my dash is saying "slip" and my VDC is off. I'm going to try to see if I can get the bracket welded back together, because I can't see any other reason for this to be on.

The bracket that connects to the lower swaybar broke off, so that switch is just "free".

^^BOOM! Teamwork makes the dream work. Thanks Costee

OP, is that all you did - change the rear stabilizer links?
  • Didn't inadvertently disconnect any other wires or harnesses
  • Didn't get different wheels or tires
  • Steering wheel isn't crooked
Because the height sensor has nothing to do with the VDC/ SLIP system.

It dawned on me that I adjusted my tie-rod ends and that threw everything off. Going to have to tackle that in the AM.
