Does anyone know if the ZPI Racing axleback exhaust is as good as stillens or tanabe exhaust? because zpi's is only about 200 dollars, so i was wondering if theres any performance difference between the 3.

Actually, this is a question I would ask either in the general chat, or the regional forum that includes Louisville, KY, where ZPI is based.

While I PERSONALLY do not have any experience with ZPI, I've heard from several reliable sources on NICO that they are NOT a good company to deal with.

Stillen and Tanabe, on the other hand, are very good companies.

I second that. I wouldn't say they make crappy products since I haven't used them myself, but there's a huge known issue with customer service. From speaking with some here and other across the net, time after time those who've had problems with their products also have had problem with getting the issue rectified, replaced, or refunded.

Go on the SCION forums, everyone runs there products, turbo kit, pulleys, exhaust and they have a great reviews on quality and customer service. I don't know where you guys got this info, but there are always haters out there for sure. I have seen and talked to many customers and they stand by there product with me and others.

I just did a ZPI Exhaust and ZPI Pulley on a Versa, tell you what, I could feel a difference. On April 28th at 10:30am they will be on PIPES TV on ESPN2 doing a SCION. With 1,500 bucks they gained 3 seconds in the quarter mile with an intake, header, ZPI Exhaust, ZPI pulley. Now that is impressive for sure, don't you agree??

OK...

3 seconds in the quarter? With 4 bolt-on parts?

OK, granted, a pulley will give you some pretty decent power as far as bolt-ons will go, and the combination of intake-exhaust-header always help a bit... but an axleback exhaust is nearly pointless from the perspective of freeing up power, because you've still got the restriction between the end of the header and the start of the axleback.

3 seconds takes a LOT of power to shave off. With a turbo I could see that, or a full engine build... but you're talking about a 10% increase in power if you are LUCKY... AND you are using a full catback, not an axleback.

Yep - Again, ZPI claims some stuff that's totally unreasonable.

Brian, I value your participatio on this board. I respect your work, your creativity, and the dedication you show to Fox's clients.

However, if ZPI is going to make such absurd claims, let them defend them - Because they're ludicrous.

Keep in mind, they're spouting these numbers to kids with 90 hp cars. They know NOTHING about performance tuning, they DRIVE SCIONS, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

To the original poster: An axleback system is no different than just cutting off the muffler and replacing it, and that's not worth $200.

To see performance gains, you'll need to start at the cat and work back (catback). A high-flow cat and headers are important as well.

Like AZ said you need a full cat back not a axle back to notice a real gain in power I know from experience I did that with my neon coupe it has full cat back with headers intake and pullies, and you will never get a full 3 sec shaved off your 1/4 mile time using just those four parts its only after a total engine build with either nitrous or turbos running that you see anywhere near that much time shaved off and with $1500 in parts only I doubt it lets see,

Header: $250-450Exhaust: axleback $300Intake: $150Pullies: $100-150

Do all those parts add up to $1500

Also bro you could always find a good muffler shop to do a custom exhaust job instead of following the crowds.
