Does your car smell of exhaust fumes? When you start it up, do you smell exhaust fumes inside the car?

Is it user friendly and where can I get my hands on it. I'm thinking I can tune it in to get thru inspection. Thanks for help.

Yeah, same problem as me, as the idle wears on the exhaust travel into the inside of the car though. You don't want to drive the car and smell like gas whe you get out. Do your idles jump around?

Trying to get a hold of a system to tune out the ECU wouldn't be my first choice but can be gotten. ZEMulator (purchasable through either Z1 motorsports or ASHSPEC.com) is supposedly a good system. There are other free systems available on the internet as well but you have to find a connection to be able to interface and talk to the ECU, not an easy task...hence the need purchase it through a dealer that has already done the leg work (ie, above mentioned dealers of said item). BTW, I recommend to NO ONE to start alternating the ECU parameters especially if you don't have experience or have any way to default to any the previous settings as well. Just my $.03.

Personally, I would run system cleaners or try something like an additive before trying to go as far as buying an ECU reprogrammer of some sort. Also, add on the stock cat system and swap out performance parts or go back to stock parameters until you pass inspection.

That would the smarter thing to do IMO.

Uh.............. Yeah, I think so.

The purpose of the catalytic converter is to eliminate NOX, CO, & hydrocarbons. Without your cats you will never pass emissions.

I'm suprised they even let you test. Where I live they check for cats first and its's an automatic fail if you don't have them.

one other thing, lets go line to line with your cats on. I'll use yours when I'm done.

before they dropped the emissions testing requirement for older cars here in chicago -- i would just have an old set of cats put on my car for the test -- the local tuner shop would put them on -- i would run the test and pass and then put my straight pipes back on -- if you didn't throw away your cats just have them put back on for the test -- it is only every two years right ?? only cost me $80
