I think from me wiring my safc wrong I blew my maf and ecu. Does anyone know how to tell if a ecu is dead. Has anyone miswired there safc then blew there ecu? If so what were the symptoms? thanks

I unhooked my safc to see if it was the ecu or the safc that was screwed up and I just found out that it was the safc and the maf. When the safc was hooked up I couldnt keep it idling with out it dying once i let off the gas. Then I unhooked the safc and it idles fine other then it would not rev past 2500 rpm. I am going to hook up a z32 maf so I can see how that goes.

Quick suggestion, Im pretty sure you already thought of that but just to make sure. Make sure that the safc is hooked up right for the maf, just incase you have a short on the maf wire or something you don't go blowing a new Z32 Maf .

How would I know my maf wires or shorted out? I know my maf is dead.

There are two ground wires that have to be spliced in exactly like the diagram says. Even though they are hooked to the same wire going to the ecu, they need to be spliced in seperate spots along the wire.

If the ecu is bad, the car will usually not start at all. Most problems are with the wiring or MAF or both. If the MAF is bad the car will not rev past 2500 because the ecu goes into limp home mode since it has no incoming air signal.

That is exactly what my car is doing. When I had the safc on the car wouldnt even idle. Now that the safc is off the car idles perfectly but the rpm bounces around 2500 rpm. I had my safc wires going to the same spot, I had the yellow and white wire going to the maf wire that is white on the ecu.
