does anyone know how to get a tachometer to work

i need help my tachomet does not work the one in the cluster in a 240 1990

Check the connections. All the way from the cluster to the ECU. If its not that, then something needs to be replaced. Likely the cluster. Oh and btw Search FTW

did you check the connection to the rpm sensor at the back of the transmission?

I found mine by starting the motor and sticking the Tach wire from my SAFC next to each wire on the ECU. Once I found a proper signal, I just tapped that for the SAFC, and the tach on the cluster. But if you have an SR motor and you swapped from a SOHC KA, you will need to buy a cluster from a DOHC S13 or 180sx from japan and just swap out the tach part. Then hook it up by reading the back of the cluster, its all labeled.

So are there two connections speed sensor and rpm on the transmission

so u taped the tach wire to another wire and got it to work
