does anyone have any information on doing a sr20 swap into a porsche 944?

Why? I could list so many other engines that would trump the SR20. How about the 3.0L Variocam I-4 out of the 968? How about the 951 engine? How about a LS1? All pretty much drop in, and are way more baller status than an SR.

Hell, have you ever properly thrashed a stock 944? In high school a close friend has a '88 944 and the only thing we did to it was some 911 wheels (17x9 17x10) with 235s and 255s, and that thing would handle like whoooaaa. Wasn't really fast, but you never had to slow down. Try enjoying your 944 before you go ruin it with an SR20.

LS1 swaps have become common in in the 944's Very small weight penalty for a lot more power. I also know someone that swapped in a 951 and said it was perfect.
