does anyone have any experience shipping wheels?

i'm about to sell some wheels on nico and was wondering if anyone has had any experience shipping wheels. where to go get them boxed up and how much it would cost.

I always box them up myself.It's pretty easy.

I guess it is a different story if you have no access to shipping supplies though.

I have some experience in the shipping department, never done wheels though!

first off I'd package the wheels individually, then take one of the boxes and take it to usps, ups, fedex, or where ever and have it weighed so you can get a figure on how much it will cost to ship. Needles to say you take the figure and multiply it by 4. you also got to factor in where they are going + how you are shipping overnight, ground, prioty, etc.

your ad should say for example: wheels for $300 + shipping (it is better to have the shipping cost already posted but if you don't then let them know that they will be paying for the shipping and you will get back to them with the shipping price)

If I where you I'd put them them on craigslist and have them meet you at a public place like walmart or something. It's always better to sell locally then aboard.

does ups have boxes i can get from them or should i just go to a box place or something.

well i just shipped out a wheel friday. safe bet is to to just do $25-30 a wheel. considering they are about 25lbs each. shipping for one wheel in a package of 17x17x8 was like 18 bucks with our ups ground discount.

well i work for bmw so we just have wheel boxes laying around. you could probably go to a tire store and ask if you could have/buy some boxes from some wheels they ordered for a customer.
