I think this could be done. Where you can have two screens on at once in 2006-2009 M series... Double din radio looks like it would fit where the 6disc changer is located????? Please help.

There's more threads discussing this, you're more than welcome to search them but since you started another thread I'll answer your ??? here. The bottom line is, it could be done but why? You will need to fabricate a double din bracket and the trim to go around your new "head unit" and it will never be as clean as it is from the factory. If you're inquiring about this because you dont have factory navigation, there's a seamless way to upgrade your system to have factory navigation... again search the forum. :bigthumb:

I know the factory upgrade is clean etc! But I can't find one & for the price I seen them go for I think a double din 7inch Kenwood with all those options would b better!!!!! I would love to see pics of it done

You will need to take it to one of those 'west side customz' shops and have it done. No one here has done it as far as I know and I too wish I could have kept my Kenwood DNX8120 from my Maxima when I got this. That thing did everything but make food.

You're going to pay $700 or so for the navi + a LOT for the customization.

That's the same head unit I had!! I had a 2004 lexus es330 and replaced the factory Nav with the Kenwood!! And like u stated I did a million things with it! The sound controls were amazing and brought new life to the speakers. I wish I would've kept mine as well!!!

Yeah, unfortunately it won't fit.

If you are looking for iPod connectivity (if you don't have that package) I recommend either the USA Spec. PA15-NIS (if you do not have satelite radio installed) or the PA15-INFI (if you have satelite radio).

You can reference the HowTo's in the FAQ thread for how to install either one. I'm picking up my PA15-NIS tomorrow hopefully.

You're always so negative! If that thing is as great as everyone says it is, one could always take out the engine to make room for it...

It can be done.. but a lot of custom work.. I have a Alpine w900 up top and the 6 disk changer has been removed and now the factory screen is in place there.. The whole system has been redone and kick panels up front and speaker panels are now on the rear deck. This was all done at my shop in the bay area. sorry cant upload pics here but if you want to see the work you can email me @ [email protected] or if you in the bay you can always come by the shop and see it in person.

Host the pics on imageshack.us or photobucket or something and post them here.

It would be very cool to see and useful for any members searching for something like this to get an idea.

Well, it's official. It's been done and I'll be honest and say it doesnt look as bad as I thought it was going to look, I'd still never do it... imo. Loving the trunk tho. Good job, whoever did it...

The bottom one isn't bad, but the top one could use a redesign. Most high-end NAV systems have a tilt feature. I'd just put it in like the stock screen and then tilt it as needed via the menu.

Cool though. I wonder how the stock NAV/Voice Commands integrate though.

very good install but why not just put in the aftermarket stereo where the disc changer is? that way you can keep the factory nav screen where it is and it would be less work.

The alpine does tilt and I put navi on top cause its akward to look down for map. Plus if shifter in park it blocks the screen

Great point, but how about if you used the same OEM aluminum trim for the mold around the OEM screen and also possibly buy another piece of that same trim to cover the screen as you please (When not in use). Or maybe paint all the aluminum pieces flat black or some glossy black... makes sense?

For the oe screen on the bottem you can use the OE trim cause its the face for the 6 disk. also The clock was there. That piece on the bottem around the oe screen is all fiberglass and its painted matte black so it matches all the other plastic parts. My whole thing was that I wanted all to blend like the OE system. Most Judges over look the set up I have to point it out and they realize its a alpine.. I could make a screen cover but it looks OE so most people wont mess with the car.

Once you install the radio did you loose anything like the bluetooth or the telematics?
