I have a 97 240sx, and i like most are considering turboing and all that stuff. But i was just curious if anyone here had a CA on their S14, because all i mostly see is the s13. Is it maybe because its a hard job? or... i dont you tell me, you're the experts. Just after i kept hearing movingviolations engine pic, i got so interested.

Swapping a CA into a S14 is nearly the same as the SR swap. Most people don`t do this because the CA was out of production before the first S14 hit the road, and in stock condition the CA is a little weaker than the SR while the S14 chassis wheigs a few hundred pounds more than the S13 chassis. This should be the reasons why people aren't using CA's in their S14.

Thanks that does make some sense. But has anyone ever done it? or have a CA in their S14? Even a picture of someone who did it.

Ray's done it, I helped with it.

And the CA isn't any weaker than the SR, a stock CA will hold more boost than a stock SR (18lbs vs 14lbs). Also as another side note the CA was produced through 1994 (just like the redtop SR).

Movingviolation240, i mean't it has a little less power than the SR in stock form. Weaker was the wrong word in this case, there's no doubt that the CA is the better engine.

I found a ca motor, transmission, turbo and piping w/intercooler and most everything but a wiring harness and computer all for 400 bucks plus the guy is going to throw in an n/a ca motor, he really needs money. Im gonna do the swap into my s14, but would really appreciate any information on rewiring considering that is going to be biggest bisnitch for me, also if people could let me know what they did to prepare their motors to put in. Like what internals you rebuilt and who you got them from, just curious, thanks
