I'm just curious about what other R50 drivers (but particularly Infiniti) think...I personally think that Infiniti/Nissan made a big mistake in replacing our pathfinders/Qx4's with the Armada/Qx56. I know they were thinking that it gives the company a more competitive edge to offer a full size SUV but it really gives current brand loyal drivers nothing to really upgrade to. At this point, I'd buy a Lexus Gx460 or Lx570 (I may very well end up with one of these whenever my Q decides to die) before I would purchase an FX or Qx56. I would love to see the Qx4 come back as a midsize, body on frame, luxury SUV offering from Infiniti with all of the modern adornments: push button start, those fantastic blue/white/red gauges, cooled seats, etc. Anyone feel the same way? Feel free to chime in; maybe we can petition Nissan/Infiniti!

I kind of feel the same as you do.I like to see QX4/Pathfinder(upto 03) continue with some new updates. I guess mid-size SUVs are much more popular than the full size.

By the way, QX56/Pathfinder Armada are very low in reliability, not like old QX4/pathy.

I am not sure if QX56 can be parked in a typical two car garage with another car. I don't want any automobile that can't park in garage.

Ditto!

There's talk about Infiniti maybe using the QX4 name again, but it doesn't sound good.

not really, sure its nice to be driving a different brand, but if you want to continue the loyalty just buy a new loaded pathfinder and forget the armada/qx56

Id personally like to see myself in a GX 470

You're absolutely right but, just like the Qx4 had certain features the Pathfinder didn't: electroluminescent gauges, heated rear seats, wood steering wheel, xenon headlights, etc, the current Pathfinder should have an Infiniti counterpart that does the same.

I sort of agree with you about the R50 chassis. It's a classic no doubt. However, by 2003/2004, it had been around for a while and wasn't lead edge technology anymore. Nissan had to move on.Unfortunately, the new Pathfinder that replaced it (R51) in my opinion is a bust. I've never liked it.The QX4 'replacement' is actually the FX series and not the Q56, I believe. The FX35/45 machines are pretty cool, but definitely not your typical off roader.I think the closest thing to our R50 Pathfinders/QX4's would probably be the Xterra. That's the SUV I'd consider, among others, if I was replacing my Pathfinder.
