My 07 clutch seems have double engage points. It engages then does it again as I let go of it slowly. Does anyone else having the same issus?

It takes getting used to...The clutch is definitely harder to shift smooth than others I've driven.

If you bought the car newly, it will feel strange for a while. It took me more than 5 months to have a set state for shifting. Mind you, I have another stick shift car, and yet, it took me that long to get a perfect state of shifting in the G-35 coupe. I don't do automatics. So, be patient with the car. It gets better as the car breaks in. When the car has broken in, the shifting is really fun and interesting. But for now, it will feel quirky and uncomfortable. its all part of getting used to a G-35 Coupe.

Also, if she's cold it seems to have choppy shifts. The 2nd to 3rd seems to be the worst. However, that could be because I don't push the engine when its not up to temp. When its warm, I shift harder. The G seems to like a little abuse

yeah... it is difficult to get use to this clutch. I have the new sedan in 6manual, and it is quite tricky at times...I've had it for a year now, so it is lots better.I'm not sure about multiple engage points, but it does engage very abruptly... and in alot of magazines, they've noted this quirky-in-the-beginning clutch

But now that all is broken-in, it is a delight to drive fast - heel-toe his a harder than other cars - but if you get it, it's awesome.

If you have the new 306hp engine - the symetrical intake/exhaust notes on the 6manual shifts are like no other car --- downshifts during higher rpm is very controlled and smooth as long as you blip the throttle enough.

I can't wait till the summer - some mountain roads - with lots of twists will help me with the practice that I need for my shifts good luck!

Agreed. I believe mine smoothed out around 35k to 40k miles. I'm just under 50k now and the clutch feels much better now than 2 years ago when new.

I agree completely with you---the G-35 Coupe seems to like abuse or rather hard driving. I have driven many stick shifts and I have never seen a car that loves abuse as the G-35--this is a toally strange experience for me.

My car drives better under hard driving or what some may call abuse---there is a distinction. I would rather say, you drive hard--which is what the G-35 loves.

Again, like I have stated in my earlier assessments of the car, the G-35 will last long3er under hard driving and give less problems, than when it is babied.

I have a friend with a 2005 G-35 Coupe. OMG, the way he pushes this car scares the living daylights out of me. Each time i am in his G-35 coupe, I always ask him, have you had any troubles or issues with the transmission or engine with the way he drives? This guy pushes 6K - 7K RPM, all day long. The usual answer is no!

So, I ask everyone, was the G-35 and the 350 Z really built for gentle and easy driving? Anyone in touch with their car would more likely conclude, no.

The G-35 Coupe was built for punishment and hard driving imho. So, i would recommend that others start pushing their G-35 coupes if they can.
