Its a stock phone. Not even rooted. It was a warranty replacement for his last Evo which had a hardware failure.

China can build things, but their engineering is crap.

If a telephone cannot make a telephone call when called upon [pun?], it is useless.
Well in that case I apologize for the assumption. I've never heard anything good about warranty replacement phones.

I beat the hell out of my blackberry 8310.

it currently has another cracked screen (accidentally pistol whipped it)

I got the phone based on reviews for durability because there's not a thing in this world I'm easy on.

I have had the original droid since the day it came out. It has been the only phone to make it through a winter let alone 2 of them. It has been dropped, kicked, thrown, soaked. Still works one tiny crack in the upper right corner of the screen that doesnt even effect the image. Does everything i need it to do and opens beers too!

I treat my phones like a**, and I don't believe in phone cases. Even did it with my old Droid and current Galaxy S. Dropped the Droid in water and it survived. I also used it to pop the cap off of beer bottles. The screen finally died one day. There is a crack on the glass of the screen on my Galaxy S, but it is entirely still usable, unlike phones of that past that just leak and becomes useless. The Galaxy S II should be out soon here, so I don't really care. I see them as needing replaced at lest once a year.
