So I stopped by the dealership to get a tube of touch-up paint yesterday, and the parts dude told me he had to order it. I found that strange. This car only comes in like 6 colors, is it that difficult to simply keep a tube of each on hand? Then I got to thinking that parts dealers, or any retail outlet, will typically only stock inventory that turns over consistently. Are most folks still touching up their own nicks and scratches or is there some blemish fairy that comes and does it for you at night now?

I got a tube of touch up paint when we bought the 08 a few months ago.Pretty sure they had to order it.....this was free.

Before that, I purchased Nissan/Infiniti touch up paint on ebay. From what I remember, you can get a felt tip type of applicator in the ones on Ebay via Canada, but you can't get them in the states....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

I got one of those touch up felt tip marker style tips from http://www.everythingg35.com a year or two ago. It could have been http://www.gruppesperformance.com as well. Either way it was like $12 for a thing of touch up paint. Expensive, but I'd do it again considering how well it worked at the time.

Had to order mine a few months ago as well. Just used it for a couple places below the door (shoes from prev owner) and to do the front license plate 'plugs'.

Ordered mine through everythingG35.com a couple of years ago. Local Nissan dealership told me it would be a week before they get any in. I found it odd too since Honda and Ford always had plenty in stock whenever I went in there before.

I got mine when I won the caption contest.

I don't think I would use it on the actual body of the car. It did great for the door edges though. For some reason my dealer Fs those up every time I take it in for service. I assume they are doing it with the vacuum hose.

According to Infiniti of Scottsdale, Nissan is no longer putting touch up paint in their parts distribution pipeline. Each dealership is left to have touchup paint mixed at a local paint shop individually.
