i got a pair of coilovers and they didn't lower my car at all so i went and bought a pair of kyb gr2's and i got them and it still didn't lower the car at all. Does anybody know if you have to mod the shocks at the spring perch (part where the stock spring sits) such as cutting it off, or is there something i'm missing or did wrong????

The coilovers are the cheap $80 ones from ebay, is it the coilover? Would a name brand work with them or is it the shocks?

There's some good news and bad news. Bad news is the ebay coilover contraptions are pure junk. They're only going to cause problems and be a huge headache for you. The good news is you have a new set of GR-2's to put springs on. Lots of people make a good set of lowering springs for the 240sx, just make sure you get them for the right chassis (s13 or s14). Tein, H&R, Eibach, RS*R are a few companies that make good springs. The GR-2's arn't the best shock to use for lowering, but they will work for a while. If you want a true coilover system, it's going to run you over $700 new. They are expensive, but worth it.

I have a friend who is the owner of ZZYZX motorsports and he custom designs and manufactors every single coilover kit specially. His name is plastered on nearly every autocross champion's car in the region as he's made their coilover. However he's anything but cheap. 1500 dollars for a kit is considered cheap.
