Im having trouble getting to the oil filter. I can see it but it's surrounded by a ton of wires and piping and i can't get a firm grip on it. Should i put the car on a lift and approach it from under the car? any advice would help. thanks.

dude the best way , is to get a filter relocation kit, it is gonna take a couple of hourse to install but then you'd be worry free.

I have a oil filter socket,Fits over the s13 oil filter perfect.Use's the 3/8 drive, just put a long extension and loosen it with the ratchet.I can get my oil filter off in 10secs.And you can tighten it with the same thing,Best $5 i have ever spent.Every sr20 ower souldnt be with out one.Got mine at Napa.

get a K&N oil filter, it has a hex thingy that sticks out to allow removal with a rachet

I laugh at people who say sr20det oil filter is hard to remove, I can do it with 1 hand tied behind my back and remove from the top of the engine by (must have rachet and using k&n filter)

You should only have to use your hand, they shouldnt be put on any more than hand tight and even then not as tight as you can get with your hand.
