Does Anybody else think its my transmission.

Hey guys - got a problem - let's just put it this way - i can be going 95MPH and if i floor the pedal - the engine revs like mad but speed drops to 85 MPh - as long as the vehicle is being floored it refuses to go past 85MPH. Any ideas, opinions or suggestions?

Start by replacing the fuel filter and cleaning your MAF.

is it throwing any codes?

I had similar symptoms (drove fine at half throttle, but slowed down at full throttle) and it was a camshaft position sensor. It could be anything tho. My OBD2 scanner told me exactly what it was, in my case.

Yeah to tell you the truth the SES Light is on - it comes on and goes off at will - will have it checked later on in the week.
