hello every one. I just bought a 94 j30. as i was detailing it i noticed a thin box in the trunk it reads Audiovox BC_55a as model number i belive it might be a remote starter of some kind . it is driving me crazy not knowing what it is or how to work it. if any one is familiar with this please help.all your advices are appreciated.thanks n advance.

It might be a CD changer or the original cell station. A lot of J's came wired for a mobile phone.

It is definetely for a cell phone. Unplug it and remove it, or just leave it be.

must be aftermarket, beacuse the OEM cell phones were motorola.

is there any way to get it active. i have a motorola cell phone. i did some googling and i think if active you can control your car( alarm, locks, starter) via a cell phone.thanks.

most those phones are analog and most cell phones are now digital, and its hard to find service, if at all.

That box also uses a wireless protocol which is outdated. No cell service providers use that protocol anymore.
