Does any one have any idea what the HP varies from a NA/KA ?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

expect about 120-135 whp if its in good condition. it varies it all on how well the engine is taken car of. stock crank hp on your car is 155 with about 15 hp drivetrain loss. then you have normal wear and tear.

I would highly recommend the bronze drive gear mod from http://www.nismoparts.com.

Its really great for transmission wear and tear, especially if you plan on using a aftermarket clutch on a KA motor (especially unsprung).

if your going with na it would be easier to push 250 with the ka24e seeing as it has more na support. the ka24de has more turbo support.it is possible but it will cost too much for it to be worth it. look for some of deviouska's posts. he knows all about ka na hp.

I pushed 130 at the wheels on a stock engine with 87 octane. I have a 91 KA with 70k on it.

You could only really do that if you go carburated. I dont think anyone has done that on EFI yet...

I thank everyone for all the info, today i will pull the motor and trans. out and start getting it ready for the machine shop. im still at a loss as far as trying to build a strong NA motor with the poss. of adding a turbo later. i would hate to bump up the compression and screw up the poss. of adding a turbo later. from what i have read i should try to keep the compression around 8-9 to 1 . but i have still yet to get a solid answer. sorry if this question has been asked a million times but i havent found anything under the search button or maybe im searching for the wrong things

Well, if you have a 95 240 with the KA24DE motor then you can use the KA24E pistons to achieve low cost high compression. They will give you about 11.1:1 or something very close to that. With the low cost of these, like from someone doing an SR swap, changing the pistons later on for turbo applications won't be such a strain on the wallet.

Also, I think PDM/Colt cams and possibly JWT off-the-shelf cams(Read: not custom grind) are the same for turbo and NA applications. Requiring only a change in timing if you switch induction styles. Search around on cams and check their sites out and even call them to ask questions. Don't just take my word for it.

I hope that helped at least a little bit.
