does any harness and ecu from any year 240 work for a ka24de?

I bought this 240 with a silvia conversion but I did some research and realized that another engine was inside and the car doesn't start. I was told that the ecu doesn't work and I don't know if any harness or ecu will work for this ka24de. help me out

you will need a ka24de harness to match the year range of the motor and an ecu to go with. you need to find out what year range your motor is and then figure out if it has the right harness on it or not, and then if it has the right ecu or not. the worst part of all this is if someone put a diffrent motor in that car then you really have no way to tell if thay tampered with the harness or not. you can search jim wolf technologies website and somewhere thay have a sheet that will tell you what ecu you have by the code on the front so thats a start. but if it was me i would probably find out what year my motor was and go yank the right harness and ecu out of a junkyard. best way to tell with the ka is if it has butterflies in the intake runners its obd1 (91 to 94/95ish) if not its obdII (95ish on). if you have an 89/90 240sx you will need to wire the ecu harness into your body harness so your dash works, its not that hard tho. also if your not rockin a 5spd this may be the time to do so as trying to figure out the auto transmission crap would likely be a nightmare too.

naw manyou need the same year and same engine type engime harness and ecu (if you use another type of engine harness and ecu such as the ka24e the window wont go down the clock radion and all the light and the engine fan and hole bunch of shyt wont work the car will start but it wont go in gear and what not this shyt happen to me i bought a ecu with a engine harness and the guy told me it can fit on a ka24de and that son of a b**** gave me a ka24e harness and a whole bunch of shyt happen too my car and then a day later the ecu burned out

you gotta get the same year and same make ecu and harness

Thanku guys for helping me out I do have a five speed and I will look for those butterflies and if not I will check the engine to see if I can find out where it came from. I heard there is spot on the engine where the serial number for the engine is located. Is this true
