Does all the 2006 M35x have AV connection port for ipod....

mine is on the back of the center console facing the backseat inside a small door that opens. Has RCA cable connections for audio and video. You can buy the Apple TV connector for your Ipod that takes component out of the Ipod and changes to RCA connections at the other end.

Do the wires work? I tried y-adapter for just audio and couldnt hear anything through the system. The ipod was playing just didnt hear anything.

Do i have to have it on the aux source on the radio or am I doing something wrong?

yep - has to be on the AUX setting for it to play through the car speakers.

I get to the aux by hitting radio or disc button?

hit the disk button to get to the DVD mode. Then use your arrow keys to select AUX in the lower lefthand corner of the DVD mode screen. Then you should be set.

I use the steering wheel "source" button to get to the AUX imput.
