Does a weapon R (95-00) require any drilling/fabbing or is it a bolt-on?

I'm interested in ditching the GAB mod and getting a Weapon R intake for my '00's.

But is it a direct bolt-on?

And why the heck is there a gen 4-5 overlap? (95-00) with '01 parts being different? I don't get it.

Oh and long time no see, nicoclub maxima forum, allsteiner and the rest of ya :p. I'm almost finished kicking cancer's ***, I'm just putting up with what was supposed to be my last chemo treatment. :

I originally had the same intake on my car. total rip off. you can get the same thing for $20 on ebay. its a short ram. so its a warm air intake not a cold air.i was really mad when i got it because i was told it was a real CAI. just go ebay.but WAI like the W.R hurt performance really bad. so either get a CAI(bomz on ebay) or stay stock. and to answer your question there is no fab work need for a short ram but cutting is need for a real CAI

damn the conflicting reports! Some people seem to like their weapon R's. And some, like you, tigersharkdude, loathe them.

They seem to have one for 95-99, but no 5th gen...

But wait, weapon R groups the 00's with the 95-99's...

Man, wtf, why do some vendors group intake parts so differently?

the one in the link is for a 4th gen. this is because this is a True CAI. it goes in the fender like mine. if you look close you can see the WR logo[IMG]https://forum-attachments.sfo2.digital ... [IMG]check ebay for a 95-99 short ram because they have the VQ30. and the 02-03 have the VQ35. it should work, 90% postitive. if someone would step in and correct me or agree with me it would be awesome
