does a p0328 knock sensor code put sc into fail safe mode

I have a 2003 xterra 3.3 sc. It is showing code p0328. I have heard that it puts the sc into fail safe mode. I want to made sure this is true before i start the tear down.

Yes.Most definitely.The supercharged model is the only one that does that.

Thanks for your reply, I think I'll replace the knock sensor. The nissan dealer in my area could not promise that my problems would be fixed. I guess there is only one way to find out.
